Zoom Code
CD, My Kingdom Music, 2008

This Portuguese progressive death metal band brings a mix of the music of Amorphis and Lacuna Coil. Their eleven track new album entitled “Zoom Code" has the prominence of the lead guitars and the abundance of sound effects. As for the individual tracks, it's good that each one has attractive qualities. "(Un)bearable Certainty" is the best song on this album with nice bass all throughout. "Awareness" is soothing and disturbing at the same time with the aura of classical music. And last but not least "Pervasive Healing" is just the most aggressive song in this album with a perfect rhythm. Violin, keys, extreme riffs and beats, dark growling and a clean female voice are the main ingredients on this fourth album of ThanatoSchizo. "Zoom Code" is a variety of death-inspired gothic-like progressive-doom metal with just the right amount of gleam to be noticed. These Portuguese avant-garde maniacs are the next best thing to watch for.
